The acrid stench of betrayal was unmistakable as she entered the room. She had known about their beliefs, but to witness it for herself made her feel sick.

Was this really happening? Were they truly spouting such hatred and lies? As her mind raced, she realized the ugly truth with an overwhelming sensation: they were racist.

Her heart sank as tears welled in her eyes, and a deep sadness settled within her soul.

This was not what relationships should be based on; why did these people think so differently than she did? Betrayal filled the room like a dense fog, leaving sourness on her tongue at its bitterness.

Filled with righteous indignation, she locked eyes with them and said, "When they treat you like a joke, leave them like it's funny."
With that, she turned on her heel and walked away for good.

It was time to take control of her destiny; no more would she accept being enslaved.

She felt empowered in knowing that such moments aren't permanent - not if you make your escape!

From then on, when life seemed hard or unfair, these words reminded her to stay strong and not take nonsense from those around her.

What was the context of the situation? Why did she feel betrayed? What did she do after walking away?

What was the relationship between the protagonist and the people in the room?
What were their beliefs that the protagonist found so repulsive?
What kind of slavery was the protagonist referring to?
